Worship Resources

Sabbath is a day blessed by God and made holy. (Genesis 2:3)

Gathering with other believers to worship and pray is a fitting activity for Sabbath. (Acts 16:13)

Because attending the services at a church’s meetinghouse on Sabbath is not always possible because of distance or health, we have compiled a short list of worship resources to use individually, or in small groups that do not have a teaching leader.

Bible Study Materials

There are many Bible study books available. Check your local bookstore or favorite web store.

The SDB Board of Christian Education publishes a Daily Devotional and Sabbath School resource entitled the “Helping Hand in Bible Study.”   The Helping Hand follows the uniform lesson series which works through the entire Bible in 5 years. It is available individually or by subscription at our E-Store here.

Music

Copyright concerns prevent us from posting current music here. However there are some websites where music is available. Some sound great, others don’t. Have fun with these links. You can search the web for others. You can also buy and download MP3s of songs to sing along with.

  • Cyber Hymnal
This site has words, scores (you will need a special program), MIDI files and biographical info on authors and composers. There is a simple midi player that will play the hymns. All hymns listed are in the public domain (copyright has expired) and can be used freely. Newer materials are not here.
  • Christian Copyright Licensing Incorporated
A group can buy the right to use some of the currently copyrighted materials out there. In the USA, a group of 1-24 can buy their license for $50 per year.

Sermons

Some SDB Churches post sermons on their websites; some fairly regularly. A couple of churches post their services. You may want to check the following church websites from the “Churches” tab on our home page.

We hope these resources will aid you as you worship. We pray that God will use you to reach others with the good news of Jesus Christ our Savior and that in so doing your group will grow.
